Tens of thousands gathered across Berlin for International Workers’ Day demonstrations, transforming large parts of the city into tightly packed protest zones. While the overall atmosphere remained peaceful, streets around Görlitzer Park reached critical density, creating a state of exception in Kreuzberg. A major focal point in the evening was Mariannenplatz, where a massive crowd surged during a live performance by rapidly rising German rap artist Ikkimel. As the situation intensified, police officers spontaneously climbed onto bus shelter roofs in an attempt to regain control. Attendees fainted in the crowd, and the artist was escorted out of the area by police and security for her own safety. In the evening Görlitzer Park and surrounding areas where declared as a party zone till the police tried to clear the streets till late into the night from partying demonstrators.
